ENGLISH The flames of imagination and creativity come alive in the English Department through all of the classes from Language Arts to Shakespeare. The old masters in lit- erature and Warriners English grammar are important foundations to our studies. Mr. Dixon with his well qual- ified staff have encouraged an understanding and appre- ciation for literature and the development of writing skills. Multiple readings, new ideas, films, recordings, and re- search have enhanced the department curriculum. During the freshman and sophomore years Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. May, Mrs. Blanton and Mr. Kiersey lay the foundation. Classes are offered in U.S. and World History, U.S. Government, Sociology, Economics, Psychol- ogy, Street Law, Vital Issues, and Hitler and the Holocaust.
