ADMINISTRATION Fairness and co-operation describe the Administration at St. Alphonsus. Both Mr. Weiss, his second year as prin- cipal, and Mr. Maci, his first year as assistant principal, co- operate together to create the proper environment which allows students to learn. Mr. Weiss and Mr. Maci’s style of leadership allow for students to come freely to them to discuss their concerns about school or personal problems. Also to have closer contact with the students and not to forget what it’s like to be in the classroom, both admin- istrators teach a class. ENGLISH The flames of imagination and creativity come alive in the English Department through all of the classes from Language Arts to Shakespeare. The old masters in lit- erature and Warriners English grammar are important foundations to our studies. Mr. Dixon with his well qual- ified staff have encouraged an understanding and appre- ciation for literature and the development of writing skills. Multiple readings, new ideas, films, recordings, and re- search have enhanced the department curriculum. During the freshman and sophomore years Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. May, Mrs. Blanton and Mr. Kiersey lay the foundation.
