An eventful calendar brought them against some tough competition, however, this group of young men showed strength and deter- mination. The entire school body is proud of these fellows for a job well done. With a record of 8-0 in the league and an overall record of Stokes, Vincent Borg, Richard Jankowski, Jonathon Banas, Daniel Maczuga, Michael Gustitus, Eric Riley, Coach Scott Bogner. 14-2 these boys showed us how to shine. Vince Borg and Derrick Sanders were the high score men for this squad. Jon Banas was the leading rebound player and assisted in many victories. The team was even invited to the prestigious Divine Child High School Tournament. Again, the boys simply did a good job. Many thanks to Coach Scott Bogner and a good team. This year's pro- duction was placed together by a staff of 12 plus the advisor. Mr D. Wm. Dixon. Though the staff was small, they were able to manage the printing of this year’s publication. Along with the layout and copy work, many other tasks are involved in a project such as this. The students are responsible for the design and photography needed to document the 1984-85 school year. This involves a critical eye and just a touch of imagination. Perhaps even more important is the actual funding of this project. Ads and patrons pay for a large amount of the final cost of the book. Sales drives and fund raisers are needed operations in order to keep a text such as this alive. All in all. it has been a good year. We of the Arrow staff hope that you've enjoyed our efforts. Smile! 90 Yvette Tremaine, Carol Marchelleta, Lisa David, Terra Simmons, Jacqueline Schulte. N e w s p a p e r $ t a f f The staff of the Arrow Flyer was headed by Mrs. Margaret Skora, who has served us faithfully at St. Al’s as a teacher and alumnus. Along with the editors, Michele Anderson and Richard Donly, the staff is able to produce our newspaper. The reporting of news items for a school is no small task, but the staff is ready and able to do so. The Flyer is a self funding project which is a job in itself. Through ads, sales and per- sonals, this publication is able to be produced on a bi- monthly basis. As an extra cur- ricular activity, this project re- quired thought and dedication on the part of the staff. Many thanks go to Mrs. Skora and her crew. 91 GirPs Varsity Club OFFICERS — Mary Jane Gorski, Sharon Hopper, Karen Norkunas, Judy Lewandowski, and Elizabeth Keiffer. Her reign was made complete by the sixteen young ladies who made up her court and honor guard. Homecoming officially began with a Mass in which blessings were asked for success throughout the weekend. Next came a dazzling bonfire surrounded by energetic, pep-inspiring cheerleaders. The following event was the parade in which the Juniors walked away with first place in the float competition. Our Varsity Football team gave its all before an enthusiastic crowd in its battle against St. Mary’s of Redford. The gala weekend came to a close with a dance entitled “Moonlight Cruise” that included the crowning of the queen and an evening of good music and dancing.
