Sometimes running eight or even 16 quarter miles, either way, they strive wholeheartedly for the finish line. Their goal is to be the best they can be. Even though there aren’t many fans at the meets, and many people don’t know much about the sport at all. they still work at reaching their goal. In any case, they're shown what St. Alphonsus is all about—working togethergiving their best efforts. This has been proven, considering they're the 1983-84 A-West League Champions consisting of one All-State champion, two All-Catholic runners, and three All-League. This year’s Volleyball team did rather well. The team placed high enough to make the Catholic League Play-Offs. They even got as far as the semi-finals in the Districts. One of the highlights of the season was when the girls placed second and received individual medals and a trophy at the Woodhaven Tournament.
