A person receives a ring many times in his or her life. Birthstones, friendship and wedding rings all mark various occasions. But the first really important ring a person receives is his or her Senior Class Ring. Out of all the events that take place during senior year, the one event that gives seniors the most pride in themselves is Ring Day. Ring Day is the first step toward graduation. The mass began with seniors carrying their freshly pressed gowns draped over their arms, entering the church in a ceremonial procession. After the senior officers were in- vested by Mr. O’Donnell, the rest of the class of “81” was in- troduced to the student body as they were invested. Soon after this, the rings were blessed by Father Leo Primer. After the seriousness of the morning, the seniors hung up their gow ns temporarily to enjoy a breakfast given in the honor of the class of “81” by the sophomores. Sophomore President Jeff Schultz gave a speech, reminding the seniors of the past three years. This day will truely be remembered by the class of “81”. 9 1.
