Mr. Donald Dixon grew up in Dearborn and attended Edsel Ford High School. He went on to the University of Michigan where he graduated with majors in History and English. He has always been interested in literature, especially poetry, because he sees the beautiful way that people can ex- press themselves and let their feelings be known. When not working. Mr. Dixon enjoys the pleasures that music can bring, and the adventures of camping. His interests are revealed through the various jobs he has held. Aside from working as a page in a library and a camp counselor, he put himself through college by playing guitar. Ms. Carolyn Nord was born on Detroit's west side but her high school days were spent at the Felician Academy. She receiv- ed her BA at Madonna College, where she majored in English and minored in both Theology History. Ms. Nord has taught grades one through eight and also adult education programs. This is the first time in the history of Ms. Nord's career that she has taught in a high school. Miss Nord came to St. Alphonsus because she felt the student body cared about their education, and had heard of the dances, plays, music and sports. Mr. Thomas Rashid graduated from Eastern Michigan University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in History and a minor in Physical Education. He first came to work here at St. Alphonsus as a trainer on the coaching staff. Last year he accepted the position of Athletic Director, an extensive job that he is well trained for. He hopes to see more enthusiasm toward athletics by players and spec- tators alike. In Mr. Rashid’s eyes, being part of St. Alphonsus can be a fun and en- joyable experience, and he feels gratified to be back at his old high school. 16

With all the good things happening at St. Alphonsus. Mr. Hudy should be here for a long time. E. - Mrs. Rosemary Maynard spent her school years in San Benito. Texas. From there she came to the Detroit area and began commuting to Wayne State Univer- sity. In between schooling, she found herself busy raising three sons and a daughter. But fate had a hand in things, and her stretch of motherhood served to enrich the final outcome of her career. She decid- ed to continue her education at Mercy Col- lege. majoring in Home Economics Educa- tion with Social Studies as a minor. When asked her opinion of St. Alphonsus. Mrs. “Maynard replied, It's nice to be your own department head—and the whole department! Here at St. Alphonsus. Mr. Maci is one of the best comedians, but also one of the best English teachers. He graduated from H.F.C.C. and Central Michigan University with an Associate of Arts and a B.S. in Education. He enjoys teaching and wants to present learning in a fun and highly scholastic style. Sports such as canoeing and camping keep him in shape. He also coaches a pee-wee hockey team. Mr. John Rashid was born and raised in Dearborn and attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and High School. Here he developed a strong relationship with God. which became the focal point of his career and personal philosophy. He graduated from the University of Detroit, majoring in Theology end History, and minoring in Philosophy and English. Later he received a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Michigan. Mr. Michael Quail went from Allen Park High School to Wayne State University where he majored in Mathematics and Psychology. He is presently working on his Master of Arts in Mathematics. During his years at Wayne he had some odd jobs such as transporting bodies—dead, that is—from the hospital to the morgue. As a teacher at St. Alphonsus. he would like to get everybody actively involved with all events. In his spare time, he likes to go camping, canoeing, and commune with nature. If he wasn't teaching. Mr. Quail says he’d either like to be a tennis or bowling pro. To become a counselor. Mrs. Marilyn Reagan had much schooling to tackle. After graduating from Shrine of the Little Flower High School, she attended Marygrove College, majoring in Sociology with a Psychology minor.
