PageTwentye1ht DRAGONIAN HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA Trombones B111 McNeely Bob Roblnson Cornets Roy Reveal Jack Mulllns Flutes Laura Mae Bartlett D01 othy Mae Brothers Nora Kate Mooney Clarmets Gerald1ne Erwm Gerald1ne Pett1t Ernestlne Moore Hudson Mooney Betty Johanson French Horns Thomas Bowles Bob M1ller Pl8.Il0 W 1ol1ns Thomas Wheatley Buddy Pattlson Thomas Peyton Betty Markham Mlllard Perry Bass Earl Taylor St Albans f1rst h1gh school orchestra was orgamzed about sncteen years ago under the d1rect1on of Mr H C Plttenger In 1934 Mr Wllhlde came to St Albans and took Mr P1t tenger s place as orchestra dlrector Mr Lelghty succeeded Mr W1lh1de 1n 1935 and IS now the present dlrector The wrchestra played for the graduat1on exerclse ln 1935 36 and for most of the school plays Durmg thlg yea1 the orchestra has present ed assembly D1 ograms for students played at several plays and w1ll play for the gradua tlon exe1 CISGS th1s year The orchestra thls year cons1sts of twenty one members In the orchestra are FIVE v1ol1ns five clar1nets two trumpets two trombones two alto ho1ns three flutes one bas and a plaro Last year there were twenty members 1n the orchestra but several new members w1ll be added th1s year Several members of the orchestra attended the annual state festlval thls year whlch was held 1n Clarksburg Nov mber 4 5 6 The state orchestra composed of about 120 mem bers under the d1rect1on of Perre Henrotte played for the annual teachers meetlng Those from St Albans that part1c1pated 1n the state orchestra were Thomas Wheatley Earl Taylor Mlllald Perry and Thomas Bowles The Ol chestra also played for the Woman s Club fu nlture d1splay at Kelly Dyer Depart ment Store .
