Sabers Are Packed With Powe The 1980-81 season for the varsity Sabercats was a learning experience as the team was young and inexperi- enced. This year 11 men returned to the varsity team. This year we have a younger more enthusiastic team. We are not as offensive as last year, but we make it up on defense, Coach Bob Keller said. We were not playing up to our potential then, but we made progress week by week. Steve Palmer was badly injured in an early game, but Ioe Caponetto replaced him well. Steve's injury will hurt us, but I am confident that Ioe Caponetto can do the job, commented Mr. Ron Vick. All in all, the Sabercats had a very impressive year. 3 lsr 1. Mike Swann rips through the defensive line. 2. Ray Fitzpatrick and Lou StClair work together to stop Chaparrel's quarter back. 3. Mark Casey roundabouts No. 82 to gain yardage.
