Poets Preston Wilcox and Don L. Lee read their works and spoke to students about pride and the black experience. The Kuumba Actors presented ‘Five on the Black Hand Side dealing with the trials of a black family. Of course the Saginaw High Soul Choir performed for the student body as well as for the PTSA and all the elementary schools. ‘The Black Man and His Music gave a fabulous account of black perfor- mers and black music which is so much a part of the black heritage.
