But we are a strong generation, we can take what we are given, we can get this school together be- cause we, TROJANS, are GETTING IT TOGETHER!!! One way we are getting it togeth- er is by getting involved in activi- ties such as Sports. We are also trying to work together in harmo- у, and just get along better with each other. We are getting it together by being ourselves and trying to understand each other better. We are trying to work better with each other and everybody around US. Students who go to the new Career Opportunities Center are setting a good example of our school by communicating with students from other schools. They are trying to Get It Togeth- er and show no partiality whatsoever. More people are becoming in- volved in school life. They partici- pate in more clubs, lunch hour activities and after school activi- ties. More students are Support- ing teams and individuals. Theclothes that everybody's wearing and things everybody's doing are now what's happening at S.H.S. An old shadow of the past has emerged to take a place as a pastime at S.H.S. The yoyo is now the rage. Right is a typical trojan rocking the baby”. The wearing apparel of these stu- dents are typical of students at Saginaw High. = . LEFT Are some of the shoe styles that are typical in the halls of Saginaw High. Wearing the hair in braids or corn cropped was a new rage that was started this year. Young men as well as young ladies engaged in this time taking process which sometimes resulted in very tired fingers. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS WEAR NEW SUITS The varsity and J.V. cheerleaders did a very fine job as they in- spired our football and basketball teams unto victory this year. This year the cheerleaders ob- tained permission from the S.H.S. student council to sponsor the 1972 homecoming dance. The proceeds from the dance helped to raise money for new uniforms. The girls did a lot of hard work in order to make their dream of new uniforms come true and their work paid off. Now they don new suits of the tradi- tional black and bright gold. It has been discouraging to have good deeds done by many students, only to be overshadowed by the few wrongs of a few students. Even though this may be the case, we at Saginaw High School have not given up; because we know that it is up to us to change the public's impression of our school. Someone from the outside may look at Saginaw High and say, ‘It still looks the same to me.” If that per- son were looking only from the outside, | would have to agree with him. The OUTSIDE of the building does look the same. But if that person were to come inside and observe some of the changed attitudes of stu- dents toward each other and toward faculty; if he were to feel the total atmosphere of the school com- pared to a couple of years ago or even last year, he would see a substantial change for the better. Although there have been some changes, we must admit that this is only the start. Putting a cherished piece of broken pottery back together again can be a tedious and frustrating job; but with patience, it can be done. The same is true of Getting Saginaw High Together. That process is tedious also, but with sin- cere effort from all those that make up the total atmosphere of the school — with help from students, fac- ulty, administration, parents and the community — it can be done. Saginaw High Trojans, “Keep on, Keeping о ,” and we will succeed totally and ultimately in Getting Sagi- naw High School Back Together.” ۱ BLIC LIBRARIES OF SAGINAW 1390 00950 6286 3 nb DUNS 5 Lom ems EN n Sieg LEHRE
