Saginaw shared the Valley championship with Flint Central, only losing to Pontiac Central 65-60 and Arthur Hill 63-55. This makes it three championships in the four years that coach Ken Gray has been at the reinsofthe Varsity squad. The team then went on to defeat Douglas Mac Arthur 92-40 and the Hills 75-68 to gain a District Tournament trophy. A total of thirty-five dollars was collected by Heavenrich school when they heard of Saginaw High's interest in helping build a school in Tanzania, Africa. Projects such as this have helped Trojans become aware of the need for better international cooperation and understanding among all countries.
