Averill and Robert W. Grant. IN MEMORIAM J. Robert Grube passed away suddenly on November 8, 1959, at the age of forty-eight. He was born March 10, 1911) 4n Saginaw and had been a lifelong resident here. He was a member of the Board of Education for the past eleven years, and he was serving as the President of this board at the time of his death. Mr. Grube was a member of several clubs and organizations here in Saginaw. He greatly encouraged all boys to participate in sports астии етео Mr. Grube felt that во усов part in sports ТЕ would keep them out of trouble, as well as maintain healthy bodies. Bob attended the University of Michigan and éraduated from Ferris Institute's School of Pharmacy in 19537. In 19385, he opened his drugstore here in Saginaw. Saginaw will miss one of its outstanding citizens, and Saginaw High will J. Latest member of the Faculty Quartee-Century Club is Mr. Faber, here being congratulated by his wife and Miss Griffin, another member of the honor club. 17 | FALL PICNIC This is а picnic? Well, anyway, we had to come inside for Italian spaghetti and meat- balls. Above: Miss Bueker and Mr. Sprack- lin, co-chairmen, ready garlic bread while at the right, the spaghetti is served by the Misses Cherry, Powers and Kapplinger. POOL PARTY This time the occasion was a pool party, with plenty of roast ham, salads, and a variety of home-made vegetable dishes. We set up the pool in the traditional Hawi- ian manner and finished the evening with a dip in the surf (pool to you). CHRISTMAS AND SANTA Santa Huyghe hasn't lost a gift yet, so every child at the annual faculty Christ- mas party went home happy. An annual affair, the Christmas party is the high- light of the faculty social season. — SILVER ANNIVERSARY Now a tradition, the 25 Year Club meets during the first semester holidays to hon- or teachers who have been at Saginaw for 25 years. Lone recipient of the award this year was Mr. Howard Faber, who was (left) serenaded by a faculty trio (representing his three sons), entertained by table dec- orations, one of which landed о Mr. Borg’s head (below), and honored with the kiss of two lovely maidens and presented with a laurel wreath of 25 silver dollars while his faithful wife, Dorothy, looked on. Mr. Ed Busa, our engineer, demonstrates some of the workings of the filtration plant under the swimming pool. Hot Coffee! Pop Corn! What is a football бате without something to munch on. And the band parents organization is there to provide the goodies. WORK Together Raising funds for the band and its program is the pet project of the Band Parents. While the band plays a concert inside, the late-comer is enticed with home-baked goodies by Mr. and Mrs. Merrill and Mrs. Mayou, just three of the many faithful members of this parents club.
