Alf' ,t 6 W x The original OLD MAIN, built during 1880-1881 on the corner of Warren and Millard, was opened on january 3, 1881. The property itself was purchased for 33000.00 from james H Conklin and Sabina V. Beach. The architect for OLD MAIN was , XJ x the father of William L. Cooper, one of our Distinguished W Alumni. His fee was 3250.00. When OLD MAIN was first built it was a two story building seating 282 pupils. The build- 1 I it I WRSZWIW B ing cost was 313,000, not including the furniture and equip- ment Daniel F. Patzner, the contractor, had help from the U building committee, which consisted of G. P. Gould, O. I. Hetherington, G. P. Buther, and J. C. jones. In 1883 two more wings were added to OLD MAIN on the same site at the XQ cost of 358,121.60.
