Harmony in learning and teaching at SHS is well represented by our two music classes, band and choir. Two separate marching bands for boys and girls were organized fifty-two years ago, and this pro- gram was continued until 1955, when the two were combined into one large concert and marching band. Each year the band presents such programs as Bandrama and the spring Congert, as well as a combined concert with Arthur Hill. The vocal music department, which boasts of a varsity choir, beginning choir, boys' and girls' glee clubs, and the A Capella annually presents the Choir Capers besides com- bining with the band to give us Bandrama and the Christmas and spring vocal concerts. It takes talent and training to play poorly well - and if that sentence is confusing, imagine the state we were in after watching the antics of this clown band which entertained us periodically fhf0UBh0Uf the Ye 24

BUSINESS EIDUCATICDN Many changes have taken place in the business department of the modern school. Still popular are the older courses which are necessary to an understanding ofcfood business prac- tice - shorthan and bookkeeping. If a graduate of 1898 were to re- turn to school today, however, he would be amazed to see students on their way to work at noon on the popular co-op program which gives credit for school through on-the-job experience. He would see confident people, ready to take their place in the society which is called America - and we think he would approve.
