SCIENCE MATHEMATICS Throughout the years, Saginaw High has offered the same complete curriculum of science and math courses, from biology, chemistry and physics, to algebra, geometry and trigonometry. However with the dropping of the atomic bomb in 1945 an the advent of the stellar sattellite, the empha- sis has largely been shiftedto interest stu- dents in the study of space and atoms for peace. HEALTH GUIDANCE 'ax 'gi X ge X A rx Guidance classes came with the new Saginaw High. Prior to that time, guidance problems, when t ey arose were handled by homeroom teachers, either in the regular advisory period, or in the weekly clearing hour during which other interesting activities such as the sale of SO's and drama tickets took preference. Individual problems all fell upon the assistant principal or the Dean of Girls who very often had to adjust problems as time permitted. Today, two years of guidance including driver training and health and person- ality discussions are included as necessary to raduation requirements. The department is now ed by a full time counselor and several iead teachers.
