fi . , Planning for successful school operation depends on many people. Busy planning the overall program for Saginaw are these department heads. FIRST ROW: Miss Eleanor Bangham, Art Education: Miss Catherine Furbee, Speech Correction: Miss Rhea Miller, Music: and Dr. Helen Tewes, Director of Elementary Education. SECOND ROW: Mr. Earle Robinson, Vo- cational and Adult Education: Mr. Glenn Mason, Assistant Dir. of Athletics: Mr. Leonard Soper, Director of Resea- rch, and Mr. George Pross, Finance and Business Adminis- tration. MR. A. B. HAIST Supervisor of Secondary Education ' As supervisor of secondary education it , , ' is the responsibility of Mr. Haist to coordinate the total instructional pro- gram of the high schools. At home Ir. Haist is an all-round handiman. His time is spent working with his shrubs and flowers and also in building things. Without the dilligent work of our school administration our schools are unable to function or maintain their high standards. These people head the Saginaw public school administration through their work on the Sag- inaw Board of Education. Their work in the past has made the Saginaw school system one of the best in the nation. Members of the Board of Education are: FIRST ROW: Heil M- Rockwell, Treasurer: Charles C. Cou- lter, Superintendent: Robert W. Grant jr., President: and j. Robert Grube, Vice-president. SECOND ROW: Eugene P. Stansbury, Secretary: Edward C. McRae, Walter I. Leesch Jr., and Dr. Raymond A. Iliff MR. OSCAR B. HUYGHE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Scheduling classes, counseling, and working on the graduation list are just a few of many tasks which Mr. Huyghe handles. Dozens of students wait to see him on such matters each day. Whenever he gets the opportunity, he likes to go fishing. Golf is also a favorite of his. His well-rounded personality has made him popular with the students. Our best wishes follow him in his future years at Saginaw High. MRS. GWENDOLYN E. MAYWOOD DEAN OF STUDENTS Mrs. Maywood is an excellent adviser for college bound students. Her expert knowledge of scholarships has aided many students. She also heads the health room, handles welfare problems and serves as official hostess for Saginaw High. Her outside interests lie in growing roses, cooking, needle- work Cwhich she does beautifullyj, and the order of the Eastern Star.
