We Dedicate ; On November 24, 1954, the new Saginaw High School building was dedicated to the cause of the training of the youth of Saginaw. While this ceremony was impressive in itself, there was an underlying theme which should not be forgotten. That theme was initiated years ago with the first attempts to replace the many out of date school buildings which had become a part of the Saginaw scene. It was carried into action by those education minded individuals who led the great effort to have these antiquated schools replaced with modern structures, and came to a climax with the students themSelves who canvassed the entire city to bring to the people of Saginaw the desperate need for better educational facilities for this rapidly growing city. The building which we dedicated on this occasion is just one of the many adjustments which have been started in the school building program for Saginawo It is to those students who led the drive for the new school, even though they themselves could not get to enjoy its advantages, to those parents who felt so keenly the need for better educational facilities for their children and the children of Saginaw that they willingly passed legislation to secure the necessary funds for new school buildings, to the business men, professional men, the factory worker, and the housewife whose interest inpublic education made possible this beautiful new high school, that we dedicated the 1955 Aurora.
