distinguished ulumnus One of the lil top linancial and industrial leaders of the United States, George Magoilin Humphrey '08, hecame Saginaw Highs Tenth Distinguished Alumnus in ceremonies at the City auditorium, May 6, I9 IS. After graduating from llast Side High in l90S and from the University of Michigans Law School four years later, he returned to this city to become a junior partner in the law lirm of Humphrey, Grant, and Humphrey. He next was hired hf the Mark A. Hanna ccim- . l . wan' of Cleveland, a manasfement com van for the L7 Nations largest iron ore, coal, and investments, as general attorney. ln Il years he Succeeded Mr. Hanna as president of the corporation. He was named to direct the United States Depart- ment of Commerce Business Advisory Council in Xwashington in lfllo. The following year, as chair- man of the Pittshurgh Consolidated Coal company, he helped negotiate a new contract with john l.. Lewis and his United Mine Xworkers. Last Fall he llcw to Germany, after heing named hy Recovery Administrator Paul G.
