Since our Girl Scouts work hand-in-hand with the JRC, they share equal representation on the Coun- cil with the high school delegates. The JRC's first project of the year was the collection of Christmas decora- tions. To boost their campaign, the council members hung large posters around the campus. Their efforts were amply rewarded by the generosity of the student body which must have brought much cheer to many a hospital ward. With sincere intention of sewing school, community, and country, the council realizes the deep value of WOI'dSWOl'th,S words: 4'Happiness adds and multiples when we divide it with others. Under the competent coaching of Mrs. Nohriga, SHA,s sports enthusiasts have en- joyed participating in the various recreational opportunities offered during l952-1953. The AAA aims to foster a spirit of good sportsmanship among participants in order to further their character development. The Athletic Club offers many incentives to its members such as the Gold Ball Award for scholarship, leader- ship, cooperation, sportsmanship, playing ability and general behavior, sports letters, trophies, medals, and pennants. An active group within this organization is the Athletic Student Council, composed of the officers and representatives from each class of the high school division. The ASC assists in planning and scheduling Intramural leagues, in ofliciating games and in maintaining discipline and order on Marian Field. Tl1at's a good iclea.
