Hui 14nv lllavli The activities of the Hui Ano Maoli, S. H. A.'s Biology Club, cover a broad field-from looking through a microscope to studying fishes in a glass-bottom boat. One occupation that usually keeps all the Sophomores fascinated is the dissection of frogs to find out what makes them tick. Highlighting the Hui's activities are the excursions to points of interest on Oahu which tie in with their biological study. As a climax of the year's work, an annual Exposition Party is held in which the projects ofthe entire year are displayed to past and to prospec- tive members. Usually included in the exhibitions are aquariums, collec- tions of insects, shells, pressed plants and flowers, diagrams, skeletons Qsome made by the girls themselveslj and alcohol specimens. with interesting subjects and amus- ing stories. Swimming, horseback riding, and food, make a wonder- ful combination-the ideal picnic for the boarders. Wfhen June comes around, the boarders leave for home and again the Academy becomes calm and silent. Hui 714 Wahine Upio Sheer love of living is the bright spirit that animates residence in Hawaii. This spirit is kept alive in S. H. A. by the activities of the Hui Na Wahine Opio, one of the ACademy's recently organized clubs. Com- prised solely of those boasting Hawaiian and Polynesian ancestry, the Hui is recognized by all as a valuable asset towards international friendship. Kuu home me kou home - My home is your home. This is an old Hawaiian tradition which has been carried on to this day-only one of the many reasons why Hawaii has become world-famous. Such is our tra- dition, such is the purpose of the Hui.
