SACRED HEARTS LEGION OFFICERS IiIil T TO RIGHT: Alum Ain, sf'rre'laryg Inuniiu Brlfwzmizrl, ..-5335: , frfaxllrrv ,Q-vnu Ni-wi' Z e ivnnai e lt was exactly ten years ago that Father Mateo, the ardent Apostle of the Social Reign of the Sacred Heart of jesus, came to Sacred Hearts Academy and start- ed an organization whose essential mission consisted in spreading Christ's King- dom of Love, and working to make its members other Christs g an organization which was to be motivated by deep love of God and true devotion to Him. lt became known as the Le- gion of the Sacred Hearts. The first Legionnaires, upon whose shoulders rest- ed the task of carrying out the initial plan of the Le- gion and of sustaining its principles, were hlled with enthusiasm and desire to please the Sacred Heart. As years passed, the Legion steadily grew and spread, attracting the interest of many, rapidly bringing the realization of the import- ance and gravity of this wonderful organization in- to flower, and steadily banking energetic Hres to consume other hearts and other souls. Today, after ten years of fruitful en- deavor, from a member- ship of ninety-seven girls, the Legion enrollment has reached a total of two hun- dred fifty Legionnaires and eighty Tareisians. Through the years the Legion has flourished like the palm tree of Lebanon. It has been prosperous in its immense spiritual treasuryg it has been faithful in keep-
