Dear Graduates: Congratulations! Your commencement day is a climax and a beginning. With vigor, interest, piety and love you have worked up to the successful completion of your high school and now you are entering upon a new venture which will laden you with new responsibilities, both grave and inevitable. Now it is, more than ever, that the pleading voice of the Sacred Heart calls upon each and every one of you to fight His fight for souls, so precious, in the vast field of the erring world. With loyal hearts afire, respond to the call! Armed with the teachings of your Alma Mater, advance fearlessly, fully convinced of the right. Never forget the true meaning of life. Cling to the 'noble principles and sacred precepts which lead to a higher life- to a life divine. This world of ours is clamoring for a solution to its increasing disorders. It is starving for want of happy family life, economic freedom, social security and human and spiritual consolation-the world is sick. It needs the tender care of a mother to restore it to health. It needs the doctrine of Holy Mother Church to reestablish it. Graduates of the love of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, it falls upon you to fulfill this duty by radiating the noble Christian principles whichlifyour Alma Mater has tried to instill into your lives. Be for all the faithful guide-posts pointing, steadily and unflinchingly, the way to God. If it is the few who have revolutionized the world for evil, then be of the few who rally round Christ the King for its reconstruction. Before you bid farewell, go once more to your loving Master, jesus Christ, in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. Speak to Him, your King and Friend, with all the ardor of your souls and promise Him to remain always the valiant defenders of His rights. This is the age of youth-give it to Christ that He may reign in truth, within your own hearts and through- out the universe. May Jesus and Mary bless you and encompass you with Their love and protection. Aloha! MOTHER LOUISE HENRIETTE, SS.CC.
