Triple A opens the Intramural basketball series as upperclassmen show sport-might when the Seniors down the Freshmen. Audion staff decides life's too shortf' so they take time out and head for the circus. What hour?-Why, from 11:30 P. M. to 12:30 A. M.-B-r-r-r. Vacation is now a word of the past. Remem- ber? Yes, school opens again. Seniors give serious thought to their careers. Sister Albert and Miss Fisher of Saint Francis Hospital are guest speakers and give us light on Nursing as a Professionf, Undergraduates wear their camera smiles for the Audion photographers. Second C. S. C. forum takes place at S. L. C. with Lucy Del Rosario as the S. H. A. speaker. Her topic was Religious Educa- tion for Society. Flash! Saint Patrick School is destroyed by fire and the little Irishmen are left classroomless, for awhile. Donations of books pour from S. H. A. to St. Patrick. Everyone in the Diocese seems ready to lend a helping hand. More moans and groans, less calls on tele- phones. Such are the going-ons when Jan- uary floods wash in-Semiunmzal exami- mziions. S. H. A. triumphs over Maryknoll-20 to 16 in the opening game of the C. Y. O. Ele- mentary Basketball League. Two nuts get the nut at the boarders' Epip- hany party. His majesty, alias Alma Aiu, reigned silently beside Her majesty, Jean Marie Medeiros. Were off shout the boarders as they head for the wild blue yonder for a day of fun. Occasion? Boarders' annual picnic. The March of Dimes drive affords another chance for students to play the role of the Good Samaritan. Basketball news direct from the score board: Sophomores defeat the juniors and Fresh- men. Seniors luckily win over the Sophies by one deciding point. Juniors are victor- ious over the Seniors and Freshmen. The foregoing statistics show a tie among the three upperclasses, with two games won by each. The double-header games will tell ,tho. Several Audion staff members get a taste of boarding life and like it. They'll often re- call that memorable night of fun in the dorm. Sophomores are in the news again when they journey on a Biology Club excursion to the Hawaiian Pineapple Company. Student Body answers Red Cross call with generous contributions. Catholic magazines and chronicles go on dis- play during Catholic Press Week. Thanks are in order to the Sodalists who set up such an attractive exhibit. Students bid Aloha and bon voyage to Joan and Sylvia Goeas who leave for Cali- fornia to make their home. The faculty and students extend sympathy to Reverend Mother Caroline and Sisters of the Sacred Hearts Convent at Nuuanu upon the death of Sister Mary Magdalen, the first island-born Sister of the Congre- gation of the Sacred Hearts, to go to her eternal reward. Another glance at the professional world is taken by Seniors and Juniors who attend an informative lecture on the field of Social Work. S. H. A.
