Our two Freshmen, Vera Villarta and Darleen Medeiros, played steady basketball the entire season. Excellent at zone defense, and determined to intercept passes and to stop goals, these two guards checked the scoring power of their opponents. Our heartiest congratulations go to Frenalda Kilbey who received the Special Basketball Award in the Senior Division and to Josephine Dias and Frances De Coito who were joint Winners in the Junior Division. As the Audion goes to press, the net games have again taken the limelight. Tennis, Badminton, and Ping Pong Tour naments have been scheduled for May-with the hope that the sports-minded will End enjoyment, not only in team playing but likewise in those sports, in which they may participate is individuals. In the decisive game, the Sophomores edged out the Seniors to take the hard-earned Intramural Basketball Trophy-to- gether with the privilege of receiving it from Ma A'll'l'l' fll'l',W'I'f immediately after the game. From the Class teams were chosen two Varsity squads on the basis of sportsmanship and playing ability. These two teams played a series of five games in which players were closely ob- served by the Athletic Directors with the intention of selecting an All Star team. Stars chosen for the forward positions were: Josephine Dias, who proved that lack of height was not a hindrance when she won top scoring honors: Fredenalda Kilbey, a fast-breaking forward who was the mainstay for the Senior team: Frances De Coito, whose height and versatility at both the guard and forward positions made her a decidedly valuable W 2
