OFFICEO E ESDEN PRESIDENTS MESSAGE FOR PROLOGUE Throughout the pages of Prologue l974 are recorded the events and highlights of one year in the life of Sacred Heart University and its students. In many ways the year 1973-74 was an historic era, marking the end of our first decade - our founding period - and the beginning of our second decade - our maturing years. This was particularly evident in the spirit and enthusiasm of the students this past year. I have found Sacred Heart students most adept at combining good fun and joy, with a serious concern for learning and the pressing social problems of our day. Though engaged in scholarly pursuits, Sacred Heart students never leave the real world - the world of living and of loving. It has been a most satisfying year for all of us who are members of the Sacred Heart Community - a year which I personally shall remember with fondness. It has been a year in which I learned much from our students, and from my associates on the facutly and in the administration.
