The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, an organization composed of six groups- the Fishers, the Helpers, the Apostles of Good Will, Discussion Groups, Parent Educators, and the Teachers-plays an important role at Sacred Heart Seminary. The main function of the Fishers, whose chairman is Mike Marquardt, is to check attendance at CCD instruction classes and to look into the causes of neglect on the part of the parents to send their children to these classes. The task of the Helpers, headed by Pat Wildenberg, includes preparing materials for teaching aids, typing, filing, and keeping records. J ack Brochtrup heads the Apostleship of Good Will. The work of his committee in- volves redistributing Catholic literature to non-Catholics and keeping records on Mexican migrants. Jack Weiland is the chairman of the college discussion group on Parent Educa- tors. The purpose of this group is to analyze and suggest possible solutions to problems confronting parents in relation to their children. High school Discussion Groups, which open new areas of thought and reveal new aspects of old problems on timely subjects like the Lay Apostolate, the Ecumenical Council, and the liturgy, are headed by Mike Carroll. Shhh .... Genius at work! Jack Weiland fright centerj leads discussion in Parent Educators discussion group.

T y iri T narian to prepare for his future work as a priest than by i i l. gl carrying out Christ's last command to teach all na- , T srt tions. The opportunity to do exactly that is open to ' 'lt t rg,,1 4- ' the students of the sixth year class, all of whom make g ff up the Teachers' section of the CCD. J, T I The catechising program was begun last year when rt 't s , 1 . if the parishes of St. Sebastian's Church of Isaar and St. f Benedict's Church of Suamico, neither of which has a Catholic school, requested the seminary to send some catechists to each parish to give religious instructions Bernie Vanden Berk portrays his ability to held to the grade school children of these parishes once a everyones ettentien- Well - ' ' almost everyones- week. Since then, the children have been given twenty- four hourly instruction periods during the course of the school year. So that all the seminarians might get a chance to teach, one half of the class teaches for the first semester while the remaining half teaches the second semester. The benefits gained from teaching these children are indeed manifold. It is believed that after these semi- narians have taught a few catechism classes, they can sympathize with the Reverend Fathers who must teach the seminarians themselves for the entire week. It goes without saying that the experience which the catechists gain from their work will prove to be very beneficial to them later on. Many of them will undoubtedly be in this same work on a grander scale as priestsg for the CCD is one of the two organizations which must oper- ate in every Catholic parish. Bernie lends a helping hand.
