The second half starts with Dave Egan jumping for the Scouts. The first varsity team in SHS history came from behind in the fourth period to edge the Hilltoppers of St. Lawrence Seminary 85-79. The tension was tremendous for the starting five in the first quarter. Although the Scouts trailed by two points at the half, they were con- fident that they could defeat the Hilltoppers. Through a determined fourth quarter drive the Scouts snatched the six point lead from the Hill- toppers and converted it into a spectacular six point victory. Jim Moder at the line forvthe Scouts. Bill Baye dunks one at Mt. Calvary. The Hilltoppers avenged their previous loss by defeating our Scouts 7 7-64 on their home court. Mt. Calvary's alert full-court press in the cramped gym thoroughly confused the Scouts in the first half. Although the Hilltoppers had leads up to 11 points in the first period, they held only a 42-37 edge at intermission. Despite a determined second half rally the Scouts were not able to claim the victory. Bill Baye led both squads in scoring with 21 points. Shooting for the Scouts is Jim Moder. l
