ALL STARS BECOME NEW SCHOOL CHAMPIONS Football at SHS reached its peak midway in the football season when the high school all stars met the perennial college champions. Both sides eagerly anticipated the game. The rivalry which has built up between the two departments during the last five years showed itself openly on the field that day. Both teams played a rugged defensive game. The brilliant rushing by the high school line backers stymied the college passing attack. Although the collegiate linebackers put on tremendous rushes, Mike Dillenberg completed a 65 yard pass play to Eddie Meier in the first quarter. The champions fought back with a flurry of passes which never were carried into paydirt. A hard rushing line caught the high school behind their own goal for two points. The competition was so furious that the all stars could not claim victory until after the final period. The dethronement of the collegiates changed the school history. The hard and well- fought battle brought the coveted title to the high school team for the first time in school history. The spirit and determination which the all stars used to win the crown will certainly en- hance future contests. V Eddie Meier intercepts a collegiate pass.
