Ad Altare staff and editors, left to right: Thomas Stodola, William Vander Heyden, Thomas Hoffmann, Bernard Vanden Berk, Myron Van De Ven, David Egan, James Selinsky, Michael Marquardt, John Brochtrup, John Lonsdale, Roy Klister, Thomas Mottard, Daniel Wendt, James Ayers, and Ronald Vande Loo. One of the students' biggest projects is the Ad Altare. It is a time consuming task which begins the first weeks of September and AD stretches to April. The task requires the co- operation of not only the editors and staff but also of the student body. To put out a coherent year book is a more difficult task than meets the eye. Not only must the editors gather the material, but, more important, they must put together the gathered material into a unified plan. The driving forces behind the Ad Altafe are Reverend Gordon Gilsdorf, faculty advisor, and Michael Marquardt, editor-in-chief. James Selinsky, Roy Klister, William Vander Heyden, and Thomas Hoff- mann crop pictures for the yearbook. Us F? Hold it! You're going to like this picture. David Egan cuts out paper dolls.

Charles Hillman and William Tomcek read the issues with interest. The editors and staff of the Caravan, a literary magazine under the direction of Father Gordon Gilsdorf, publish three issues a year. Each issue is handled by college students. All seminary students are encouraged to contribute articles to this magazine. Seminarians who submit articles are given the satisfac- tion of seeing their names under their literary efforts. Richard Braun and Thomas Hoffmann sell Caravan to David Reiser, Dennis Siebers, and Michael Belongie. Robert Bootz can hardly wait to get his copy. 51
