Elizabeth Barrett Browning once wrote, Whoever fears God, fears to sit at ease. She realized, as do many seminarians, that one should keep active. Organizations keep students busy at the seminary. lt would be absurd merely to label organiza- tions as time-fillers. The school has a positive need for them. Organizations serve both the students and the faculty. Seminarians are given a chance to develop their talents in many fields. Since organiza- tions at the seminary are interesting and sundry, students take an active part in them. By cooperating with others for a common goal, zealous members acquire many virtues. These members are not satisfied just to have their names on the list. Years later, as priests, these young men will be called upon to use the very virtues and skills acquired while being members of or- ganizations. The seminarian who fears to sit at ease will be the active priest tomorrow. f 1 He who labors as he prays lifts his heart to God wzth hrs hands St. Bernard
