Thou shall renew the face of the earth . . . Spiritual reading is important to the seminarian for information and spiritual growth. The seminarian incorporates spiritual reading into his life on his own initiative. As a devotion to the Blessed Mother, the rosary is said daily in com- mon. To honor Christ properly at High Mass, chant practice is held following rosary. The students are encouraged to inculcate into their lives certain devo- tions which they can perform on their own time. Night prayers and high school meditation at 9:00 P.M. close the day. 1 Let us pray . . . 0 God Who didst instruct the hearts of Thy faithful . . . Q , . . Holy Spirit descend upon you and remain with you forever. Amen.

Daily Life Fill the hearts of Thy faithful . . . 7-322 A 'ST Come Holy Spirit . . . The seminary day begins at 6:10 A.M. with college meditation in the chapel. At 6:30 the high school joins the college for-the recitation of morning prayers. Mass, the high point of the day, immediately follows. With the completion of Mass, a short thanks- giving is offered. The students then go about their scheduled morning activi- ties. At noon, everyone returns to the chapel for the examination period. Father Koszarek reads to the students concerning a virtue or some religious activity. Time is allowed for proper reflection. And enkindle within them the fire of Thy love . . . Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created . . .

Dick Braun arranges the Missal for Mass. Sacristans One of the most honorable appointments which can be given to any seminarian is that of sacristan. The work of sacristans is work that can be a liberal educa- tion within a narrow, yet very important, circle for a seminarian. This year the efficient job was performed by David Egan and Richard Braun. These young men spent many hours preparing the sanctuary for the school's various liturgical functions. Polishing chalices, scrubbing and vacuuming floors, ordering supplies, and even sewing vestments consume ten hours of their week. Solemn Masses, Forty Hours' Devotion, and other special events add to their Work. Outside of these duties, the twentieth century sextons have the re- sponsibility of making our sacristy one of the neatest places in the building. The exacting and patient task of training the servers was carried out during the past year by Myron Van De Ven and John Vanden Boogaard.
