The banquet meal was prepared by the mothers of the junior class and served by girls from the underclassmen, all under the capable supervision of junior class adviser Mrs. Daby. Music for dancing was provided by the group Zachary. RIGHT: Decorating is always an important and enjoyable part of prom preparations. K. Enestvedt, F. Huisman, J. Bjomdal and E . Lalim paint shields for the huge Viking ship which adorned the front of the stage. A mural of chalked scenes covered one wall, and in the center of the gym was a rock garden with many colored flowers. FAR RIGHT: Prom hosts and hostesses are chosen by the juniors from members of the sophomore class. They are H. Johnson, P. Knutson, K. Holien, M. Flaata. Master of ceremonies for the banquet was R. Knutson. J. Hoberg presented the toast to the seniors; J. Skalbeck the toast to the juniors. R. Aalderks read the class will. 24

A ABOVE, H. Johnson intercepts a pass in the homecoming game. Unable to score, though, the Vi- kings were defeated by Renville 28-0. T. Kjersten, number 10, is also in the picture. The seventh grade's winning float, Last of the Mohicans, is pic- tured LEFT. V. Andree, the captive Indian, is held by two Vi- king players, M. Dahl, hidden behind Andree, and M. Anderson. Seventh grade attendants are J. Kluver and J. Lerohl. The pep fest which followed the parade on Friday afternoon was somewhat unusual this year. Be- cause two of the cheerleaders were queen candidates and an- other had been injured, only two of the girls, W. Fostvedt and V. Jacobson, led the school in spirited cheers. 23
