FOOTBALL Record number of boys report for training Ten lettermen and a record of 37 players reported to Coach Vickerman tor pre-conditioning. In the first 212 Conference Football Jamboree, at Renville, the Vikings tied Stewart in two quarters of action. The first pre-season game at Clara City was a thriller with the Vikings losing only 8-7. The remainder of the season was disappointing. Unable to come away with a victory, they ended with a 0-7-2 record. R. Knutson was named to the A11-Conference Team and was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. Best defense went to R. Aalderks and best offense to H. Johnson. Co-Cap- tains were R. Aalderks and T. Schwinghammer. M. Schjenken gets fine support from team members as he carries the ball during the Maynard game. Varsity coaches Ray Miller and Tom Vickerman, UPPER CENTER, are caught in a mood of watchful concern. Also in the picture are K. Holien, M. Schjenken, and S. Giese. 7
