The cheerleaders made good use of our trophies as centerpieces for the tables. They also set up goal posts and used footballs, helmets, track shoes and baseballs. Our symbol was forever true to our athletes. ATHLETES HONORED BY LIONS CLUB Jerry and Gary added interest with a cornet duet. Over 200 people attended the athletic banquet sponsored by the Lion's Club hon- oring the lettermen and cheerleaders on April 18. John Kundla,basketball coach at the'U' of Minnesota stressed the importance of high school athletics in forming proper study habits, diet, and conditioning. He also told the lettermen that great ath- letes are not born,but attain their skills as a result of much hard work and pract ice. 27
