BRASS SEXTET: Percy Gerde, Paul Fieidhammer, Robert Berge, Gary Kohls, Jerome Heggerston, Gary Engen This was a very exciting year for our band. First, we went to the Minnesota Band Day at the University of Minnesota. ?Te marched into the stadium and played in a massed band with students from schools all over Minnesota. The next highlight of the year was to be chosen as WCCO Prep Band of the Week. This was a great honor for all in the band and all the other stu- dents, too, because a large cheering sec- tion represented Sacred Heart. Then, to keep our summers busy we were also asked to play for one day at the Renville County Fair. And then, another big thrill was to be chosen as one of the top ten bands in the state to play at the Minnesota State Fair for an afternoon and evening perform- ance. Of course, we have all our other activities through the year such as con- certs, marching in parades, and playing at games. This has been an eventful year for the Sacred Heart Band.
