Abounding in spirit and enthusiasm, the Fresh- man have made themselves known in many ways this year. Over half of the class are members of the senior choir, and many are band members. Rosella Docken and LeAnn Fieldhammer were in the one-act play cast, and Sue Lietzke was chosen the out- standing speech contestant from SHHS, going as far as the regional meet with her humorous read- ing. Athletically, the class rated very high, as the football, basketball, track, and baseball teams all had several freshman boys. Winning honors at the district FFA convention entitling them to compete at the state meet where Duane Slater and Dean Hanson.Most important, the class rates high scholastically, showing an eagerness to learn that makes them a Joy to work with.
