611155 Of 1982 W' E I ffifffee Jaime u ' fliimdws How excited we were on August 27th as we started our Senior year! lt was hard to believe that it was our final year here at S.H.M. Our last spirit days started off with beach da y . As we dressed in our beach attire and tried to catch some rays in the cafe, we recalled the good times we had shared on our class trip to Florida. The next day 'polyester-plaid day was filled with laughs as we looked at each of the Seniors who were dressed in polyester pantsuits, multicolored babuskas and white pointy-toes sneakers. The judging proved too difficult, so we were all named, 'poly queens , As spirit days ended, we united in our sharp, white and green class jerseys for the traditional balloon ascension in the courtyard Our green balloons ascended, however, the spirit of the green machine remained with us, Our last Mother-Daughter Mass was a very special event as we celebrated it together. Senioritis crept in early as we survived A,C. T. 's and S.A. T. 's. The search was on, as we talked about colleges and our plans for the future. We all shared the same worries, feelings of stress and confusion, as we tried to make important decisions. Before we knew it, green and red streamers in the cafe announced that the Christmas season was upon us. With Christmas spirit, the Seniors decorated the cafeteria. Our last Christmas Ball was a very special night, Then, in February many Seniors and their Dads enjoyed the traditional Father-Daughter Dance, We're a Great Team, Dad Spring finally arrived and it was time for April Fest. It was a fun evening with the faculty and student skits and a potluck supper, After months of planning, April 30th, our magic night arrived . . . Prom, Just You and Me , It was a memorable night that we shared together at Henrici's, O'Hare Inn. It was hard to believe that there was only a month of school left, The days flew b y, as we busily finalized our plans for the Senior slide show, our Mass, A wards Dinner and Graduation, How happy we felt when many members of our class were recognized at the A wards Dinner at the Chateau Ritz. Then, ,lune 4th, our Graduation Day arrived and we were filled with mixed emotions. We were happy to have achieved success, yet sad that our high school days at S,l-LM. were now just precious memories, How proud we felt as we marched down the aisle for the last time, united as the Class of l982l Kelly Burke Senior Class President,
