ANITA NESSER, K top Ieftj, has been playing the violin for eight years. Along with prac- ticing three hours everyday, Anita practices with the Chicago Metropolitan Youth Sym- phony in Orchestra Hall. In the Illinois Music Association's solo and ensemble contests, Anita has won first place with a perfect score for three consecutive years. RO- SEANN TOMASELLO, Itop rightj, was a Na- tional Meret Hnalist. JEANNE WALKER, JEANINE HUME, Cmiddlej. and KATHY EA- DEN, Knot picturedj, have been involved as peer counselors with a group known as Pres- ervation of Human Dignity based in Palatine. Their job is not to give advice but rather to act as a sounding board for the emotions of a pregnant teen. VICKI MERKEL, Kbottomj, attended a ten week session on computer programming at Northwestern University. The course was entitled Fortran I and met on Saturdays for three hours. HOLL Y KUESPERT, I not picturedj, represented Palatine in the i982 Miss Illinois pageant. Although this was her first pageant, Holly excelled to first runner-up out of some ll0 contestants. If Miss Illinois becomes Miss U.S.A., Holly will take over the Miss Illinois crown.

Special SUE DEMAERTELAERE, ftopj, has been show skiing for eight years. Being a member of the Minneiska water ski team she spends her summers performing in Tommy BartIett's water shows, Wisconsin, This year Sue traveled to Cyprus Gardens, Florida during her spring break and appeared in shows as well as worked out for the upcoming season. She also at- tended Sea World auditions in Orlando and will be skiing with them in l983. AIMEE BURISS and NORA FOREMAN, fmiddle Ieftj, were recognized by the G.C.A.C. for outstanding basketball skill. Aimee was named to 'All Division , and Nora to 'All Confer- ence . MARY BIANCARDI, Cmiddle rightj, attended a yearbook seminar held during the summer at Rock- ford College and recieved the Most Improved Pho- tographer trophy. ELAINE K OS TOPOLIS and LA URIE GUENTHER, fbottom Ieftj, after winning the confer' ence doubles competition went on to the State Ten-7 nis championships. DEBBIE WALSH and MOLLIE Mc- COK fbottom rightj, re- ceived high honors at the Illinois State High School Vocal Solo and Ensembles contests at Kaneland High School in Maple Park. Debbie re- ceived a first place rat- ing in vocal solo while Mollie received a second place rating in vocal du- ets.
