In 1981 the SI-IM track team enjoyed its most successful season ever. Beginning with victories in several indoor meets, and continuing through a number of dual and tri-meets, the SHM runners continued to improve. The Sabres began to attract the attention of other area teams when they unexpectally finished a second place in the Rolling Meadows Invitational. The high point of their season with af come-from behind first place finish Qin- the GCAC Championship. In the ISI-IAA B District meet the following week, the Sabres tin- ished in Sth place out of 18 local schools. The team of Mollie McCoy, Beth Gillespie, Mary Kennedy, and Pat Mazzanti quali- fied for the State Track Meet in two relay events. Vicki enters the home-stretch.
