• Â¥ ' nuRTi CAROUNA 28012 I T - fc SACRED HEART COLLEGE CRADATIM1978 This book is dedicated to Mr. John Cowie, who through his spirit of joy and excitement in his work, has added much to our growth as unique and happy people. This book is a monument to moments past; memories held fast in images and words: — Birds! Birds! Birds! Have you ever noticed the similarities between them and us? We fly, we flap, we spar, but some of us only walk, or hop. We come in all sizes, shapes, and colors: big, small, short, tall, mediocre, magnificent. Some sing, some squawk. One has the nesting instinct, another doesn ' t. Some flock, others fly solo. Wise as an owl. Dumb dodo. Turkey! Chicken! Feather-brain! Egghead! Canary legs! Graceful as a swan . . . the list goes on. Which just goes to prove there ' s a little bird in each of us. So how ' s your Bird? ' 54 SENIORS i see my purpose now — a senior continuing the search for knowledge, for truth — i embark upon the beginning of yet another journey . . . Nora Leon Guerrero Dear Seniors, Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matthew 6:26) In your choice of birds as your theme, it seems apropos to reflect on this simple Gospel message as you reach another mile- stone in your life. God ' s loving admonition to total abandonment to His divine care should free you of fear and anxiety. Know that you go forth from your alma mater with our high regard and prayerful hope that we have helped infuse in you that con- cern for your fellow citizens which calls forth from you your very best — profe ssionally, morally, socially, and spiritually . For all else, abandon yourself to God ' s divine province. He will care for you; and in your weakness, you will find His strength. In whatever you do, know that all at Sacred Heart College have a deep interest. You do us a great service if whatever you do is done well. Stamped upon you is our hallmark of quality education, Christian witness, and service. Do not let it be effaced. God love you ! Sister Mary Michel Boulus, R.S.M. The food that marked extraordinary German taste, the Polka that swayed to the German tunes, the beer- drinking that produced a pleasant sensation down almost everyone ' s throats, and the mingling with friends made the event a lasting, memorable one.
