JACOB FISHER Served as President 1972-75 SISTER MARY MICHEL BOULUS Acting President Dear Members of the College Community: Probably one of the most difficult decisions made by our Board of Trustees was made January 23,1975 — Sacred Heart College would continue and, please God, would grow. A new cloak would cover it and a new dimension would be added. What causes colleges to fail is too often blamed on a decrease in enrollment and financial distress. This seems to be a tail wag dog approach. What more clearly determines success or failure is shared vision. What is this vision of which we speak? The vision is that which includes purpose and is completed by love. It provides people with a forward thrust to be and to act as a team. People wfio participate in this vision are willing to make the many sacrifices entailed in pur- suing the goals and objectives of our College Community. Shared vision has closely knit our College Community. It has given sharp pronunciation to our new direction and a sharp focus on our new image. Having determined that service is our hallmark we have put our hands to the plow and there is no turning back. It behooves us now to put our best foot forward, and though each of us is a piece of fine art — a pearl purchased at a great price — each of us is not a gem to behold, but a jewel to enhance, to radiate a spark of light, to be a center of love, a vivifying leaven amidst our fellowmen.
