Fine Arts Although referred to as a well-kept secret, the art depart- ment at Sacred Heart was well-known throughout the state for its fine comprehensive program. Sr. Mary Theophane guided all art majors, and Mrs. Mary Mintich specialized in studio problems. New to SHC, Mr. Youngman taught a special course on African Art. Also in the area of fine arts, Sr. Mary Cecilia continued with her round of special music classes and lessons. Joining her in musical pursuit was Mrs. Georgia Arribau, who helped build an enthusiastic chorus.

Psychology Dept. Under the smiling guidance of Dr. Joseph Lewandowski, the Psychology Department of SHC was enlarged and strengthened. Sr. Jeanne Margaret McNally taught the introductory course, and also handled theology classes. A third staff member, Ronnie Grant, came second semester to bolster psych offerings. 20
