LXXIII Benefit Set For College By Comedian TV comedian Danny Thom- as will try to make the audi ence laugh at Ovens Audi- torium in Charlotte April 22, and the proceeds of his per- formance will benefit the Sisters of Mercy in their building project at Sacred Heart College at Belmont. Thomas agreed to do this show and although couldn ' t work it into his regular schedule, will be appearing while on vacation from his regular series on television. He became interested in Sacred Heart when he met and talked with Sister Michel in Atlanta last summer. Thomas is known for his DANNY THOMAS help to people in need. In 1958 he broke ground for the) St. Jude Hospital Founda- tion in Memphis. After 10 years of benefits and $2,000,- 000, he helped erect this re- search hospital to find cures for children ' s diseases. Volunteer workers from North and South Carolina have worked hard to gain a capacity house for the bene- fit. Celebrities in attendance will be North Carolina Bishop Vincent Waters, Gov. Terry Sanford, U. S. Attorney Gen- eral Robert Kennedy, former president, of the TJ. N.
