From the opening line to the final curtain our many actions have been guided by those who possess leadership and knowledge in the skills of nursing. We are indeed grateful to our dear parents for their continuous guidance given to us during the past three years. We wish to thank our in- structors for their efforts in providing the foundation for our nursing educa- tion. Our memories are stored here in our '56 Annual Carmen Sylvaf' With every page may we relive again our student days. An Angel of Mercy, the epitaph of a nurse, whose cardinal virtue is that of charity. From mercy flows the love of suffering humanity To smother the burning anguish of pain, The wings of the angel to enfold and caress those in sorrow, Fluttering to stir the hope of those despaired, Speeding to quickly aid the injured, Suspended between heaven and earth to support the dying, Yet of the earth and a bit of heaven, Yet not defiled, yet not divine, To walk unnoticed, yet to be ever present, To talk softly, yet to direct straightforward, A To pray to God, yet in all humility, To give oneself, to Cod, to Country, To suffering humanity.
