QUEENS OF THE COURT Team members are, kneeling: Angela Wolfe, Julie Kiekhaefer, Shawntel Santo, Lizzie Weddle, Trish Frederick, Standing are Paula Walker, Chris Knobbe, Shelli Olberding, Anne Simon, Jackie McGinnis, Angie Hel- mick, Tracy O’Grady and Coach Denise Kirk- endall. The girls’ basketball season had its ups and downs, but the Ir- ishettes never gave up. Although with a 9-10 record, Coach Denise Kirkendall had always encouraged them. At the end of the season Chris Knobbe and Angie Helmick received All-Conference honors. Angie also received All-State Hon- orable Mention. 20

A FAIRYTALE SEASON Team members are, sitting: Rich Holtz, Tom Witt, Mike Knobbe. 2nd Row: Darrin Schawang, Lonnie Schawang, David Keith- ley, Phil Scheitel, Nacho Kroll. 3rd Row: Coach Doug Goltz, Matt Knobbe, Raphael Darveaux, Joe Kirkendall, Davie Finck, Buck Sells, and asst, coach Dennis Pri- chard. Not pictured is Greg Slominski. The boys basketball team was outstanding, with desire that wouldn’t quit. They were S.E. Mustang Invitational Champs and Galaxy Champs! (See pic- ture below) They also made it to last round in Dis- tricts. David Finck, Greg Slominski and Joe Kirkendall received All-Conference Honors. (Pictured at right) Their final record was 17-5. Truly a fairytale sea- son! 21
