A Storybook Christmas OK, Chris, we know that you have everything under control, but as for the rest of you, we’re not so sure! Matt and Patti await their turn during the rosary. Mr. and Mrs. William Knobbe played Mary and Joseph, while Cassandra Pokorny played baby Jesus. The music for the dance was provided by Les Drake. Come on guys, you know that 1 am not Fred Astair! Royalty Begins ... Homecoming ’85 Senior king and queen candidates for 1985 were from left to right: Shell Slominski. Joe Dixon, Pat Knobbe, Claudia Sarmiento, Moni Parsons, Roger Helmick, and Bonita Bragg. Moni, Shell, Bonita, and Claudia pose for the camera during the big Home- coming game against Humboldt. At half time of the football game against Humboldt, the 1985 homecoming royalty was announced. Pat Knobbe was crowned king, by last year’s king, Greg Liberty, and Claudia Sarmiento was crowned queen by last year’s queen Gina Bippes. During the week the Seniors decorated the school in green and white. Following tradition, we decorated a truck donated by Linda and Doug Kirkendall, and we named it after Claudia’s mom, Graciela. Proceeding the game, we held a dance at the Tiehen gym, with music by Les Drake. 28

“These Dreams” The girls took time out before the prom to show us how gorgeous they looked! Phil shows Shelli the latest dance steps. “These Dreams” was the theme for the Junior-Senior Prom of 1986. The annual dance was held at the Elk’s Club just as was the banquet. A pre-prom party was held before prom at Moni Parsons’s house. Tracy Johnson provided the music for the evening. Following the dance, everyone went to the drive-in and watched A Nightmare on Elm Street part 2”. During the day the Junior class missed school to decorate the Elk’s in the Senior color scheme of aqua and pink streamers. Silver stars decorated the walls and hung from the ceiling. A centerpiece of aqua and pink balloons drew many compliments. It was an evening of laughs, fun, food and good friends. Junior-Senior prom will be a night we will all remember. 30 The people at the head table anxiously await for their food to be served.
