Boys Show Determination Joe, who are you yelling at? Coach Banks?! The 1985-86 Irish Basketball team consisted of: Mike Knobbe. Raphael Darveaux, David Keithley, Anh Tran, Matt Knobbe, Eric Voegele. Back row: Coach John Banks, Phil Scheitel, Greg Slominski, Joe Kirkendall, David Finck, and Lonnie Schawang. The boys’ basketball team had a rough season this year. However, the young team gained much needed experience and ended the year with a 3-13 record. They Finished fourth in the Galaxy Conference Tournament, and fourth in Districts. David Finck was the high scorer and rebounder for the year. He went on to make All-Conference. With all the experience that this young team gained this year, the Irish are bound to have an outstanding season next year. 21

Girls Face Tough Opposition Now where did I put that ball??????? The girls’ basketball team had a rough year. The only senior on the team this year was Shell Slominski, who went on to earn All-State. All- Conference honors went to Shell and Chris Knobbe. The girls gained some much needed experience and ended their season with a 7-9 record. Now with another season behind them, the girls are bound to be tough opposition in years to come.
