Graduation 1986 “Glad that is OVER thinks one graduate. Once We Followed........ “We once followed, now we lead.” The words echoed in our heads as we marched to the familiar beat of Pomp and Circumstance. It was the moment we had all waited for. The time when we would say good- bye to our childhood and look to the future. As we took our seats, the memories of the past four years came flooding back: the dances, the games, time spent with friends, the rowdy times and the sad times. We remembered them all. It was hard to describe the emotion we felt as each of us received our diplomas. It was a mixture of happiness for what we had to look forward to, and of sadness for what we leave behind. Whatever each of us was thinking though, there was always the knowledge that we were all going our separate ways and were about to encounter the biggest challenge of our lives: choosing a path to follow. As the ceremony ended, and we marched down the aisle for the last time, we realized that after following for so many years, we were finally ready to lead others as we had been led and look towards the future with open-mindedness, at the opportunities it offers and at the challenges we must conquer. ......Now We Lead 13
