• • Let’s All Hear It The 1983-84 Varsity Cheerleaders included: Amy Majerus, Kristi Olberding. Janet Finck, Amy Pokomy. and Theresa Knobbe. Pictured above are the 1983-84 Cheer- leaders and Pep Club who cheered the Irish sports teams on from the fall to the spring with great enthusiasm. Theresa's cheering helps to muster up some spirit. The Irish Pep Club took on many activities, the biggest of which was the change in the Homecoming dance decorations. Instead of the usual pumpkins and hay bales, the girls used rainbow colored balloons and streamers to brighten up the event. Kelly green crew neck sweaters with white oxford shirts under- neath replaced the green and white sweaters worn by the Pep Club last year. • • • For Irish Spirit Above are the Homecoming candidates for 1983. Left to right: Ann Schuetz. Greg Goltz, Amy Slominski, Todd Scheitel, Queen. Theresa Knobbe, King. Tony Frederick, Amy Majerus. and John Fischer. On Saturday, October 22, the Irish played Humboldt for their Homecoming game. The boys came up short in the game, but Spirit Week before game night was still lots of fun. The seniors decorated the school and the Homecom- ing vehicle was named “Lor- etta . The pep rally was held in the gym where the juniors presented the skit, Family Feud”. Theresa Knobbe and Tony Frederick were crowned 9ueen and King. This year the Pep Club decorated the gym for the Homecoming dance with Gina shows off Mark's signed T-Shirt rainbow colored balloons and streamers instead of scarecrows and straw, on Spirit Week's T-Shirt Day. 29 The bonfire is up in flames.
