The Shining Sophomores Roger Helmick Pat Knobbe Shell Slominski The Sophomore class of 1983-84 was small, but raised a lot of money. The biggest money-raisers for them were setting up the concession stands at Junior-High games, serv- ing at various banquets and popping popcorn at High School games. They also had their cake raffles and their days of cleaning Jug Brown Stadium. But, the highlight for them was the ordering of class rings. Various stones and backgrounds were cho- sen and the suspense built till they got them. Another addition to this class was a German foreign exchange student from Bonn. She stayed this school year with Matt Froeschl's home and learned a lot of American customs just as we learned many German customs. From all the work they put into this year - they proved they’ll be a great asset in their last two years at Sacred Heart. The Busy Bees Kris Peniska Amy Pokoray Diane Schlosser The Junior class started off the year with a good answer. The skit for the Homecoming activities was £ take-off of the TV game show “Family Feud”. The bonfire was built on the practice field by the guys. During the Christmas season we raffled off a Cabbage Patch Kid, Kelli Clara, who was eventually adopted by NiNi Frederick. The Christmas Formal was decorat- ed by our class with red, green, and silver metallic streamers. Music was provided by a Disc Jockey from Hiawatha. “We May Never Pass This Way Again” was the theme for the Junior-Senior Prom. Bur- gundy and silver metallic streamers highlight- ed the dance floor. After dinner, Morsman Studios was in charge of taking pictures of the couples. Music was then played by the band SPLASH from Lincoln. NE. Tom Sells Scott Smith 8
